About J.S. Breukelaar
California-born, raised in New York, writing in Sydney and educated in New Zealand has given me a head start in the homesickness stakes and most of my writing seems to come from this place. I have a PhD in writing, online and print credentials and a background in music and film. My current novel, Blue Moves was a finalist in the Varuna House Editors Awards. I wrote it naked and a long way from home, in a period of deep personal alienation and what seemed like terminal exile. In order to find my way back, I had to create it.
Blue Moves was a labor of love. I hope it gets published. I can only stay naked for so long!
